Will Amarillo See More Snow? An Arctic Blast Is Coming To The Panhandle.
The recent snowstorm that hit Amarillo caught us all by surprise. A record-breaking amount of snow fell, school was canceled, and most of us wished we could stay home with soup and a blanket. How soon could we see more snow in the Texas panhandle? It could be sooner than you think.
Amarillo Could See More Snow In Up Coming Arctic Blast
As we try to catch our breath after the winter storm that hit last week, we might want to look forward to the end of this one. While we enjoy a few days of decent weather, there's an arctic blast on the way that could drop temperatures to well below freezing and potentially dump more snow on the panhandle.
According to the National Weather Service Amarillo, the arctic blast is supposed to hit this weekend. This blast of arctic cold could cause temperatures to bottom out and could bring a return of snow. This weekend definitely sounds like a good one for spending some time inside trying your best to stay warm.
When Will It Snow In Amarillo Again In January 2025?
The National Weather Service does point out that it's too early to say for certain how cold it will get and how much snow we may see. Looking online at different forecasts, most are pointing at single-digit lows on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Sunday and Monday the highs are only in the 20s.
If you haven't taken the time to prepare your vehicle and your home for the winter weather, now would be a great time to start. Make sure you have your emergency kit ready in your vehicle in case you get stranded. Give your home a once over to make sure it's ready for multiple days of bitter cold. Let your faucets drip, and leave cabinet doors open so pipes get to feel some warmth.
Even if it doesn't snow, it does look like this weekend is going to be bitterly cold in the Texas panhandle. Be prepared.
