Food Truck Wars: How Your Vote Decides Amarillo’s Biggest Summer Menus
One of the things we take pride in knowing a lot about in Amarillo is food. We are the experts in anything culinary. We know what we like, and we support any business that serves it.
We want to make sure we are in the know of any new eateries coming to the area. We get sad, mad, or glad when a restaurant closes, all depending on how we felt about the food. We love our food, we really do. We should be in charge of any food decisions in Amarillo.

That is why I think Amarillo Parks and Recreation leaves it to us. We get to pick who we will have at two of our biggest events, the city's July 4th Celebration and Pirates in the Park.
Event Details: Time, Location, and Admission Info
We need food at those events, and we get food trucks. How do we choose who should bring their food for us to enjoy? We host Battle of the Bites, of course. The battle is on May 30, 5 pm - 8 pm, out at John Stiff Park.
Let the food truck wars commence! Battle of the Bites returns to John Stiff Park May 30th, with returning and new food trucks as well as a cool new twist!
Taste the flavor of Amarillo by purchasing and eating food from local food trucks at our annual food truck rally. This event is free to attend. Don’t forget to vote on your favorite before leaving!
Participating Vendors: Over 30 Food Trucks Ready to Battle
The Great Water Wars: The APD Brings the Heat (and the Water)
This year in conjunction with Battle of the Bites, the Amarillo Police Department will be hosting the Great Water Wars at the same time! APD will provide a limited amount of water balloons and water guns, but please feel free to bring your own and join the battle! Be prepared to get soaked!
