However, the news we received yesterday sent shockwaves through the Amarillo sporting community, and it might be the biggest thing to roll through Amarillo in decades.

What Is Coming To Amarillo

It was announced that the Korn Ferry Tour is set to roll through Amarillo for the OccuNet Classic during the 2026 season.

The event will be held at the La Paloma Golf Course at Tascosa Golf Club.

What Is The Korn Ferry Tour

The Korn Ferry Tour is essentially golf's minor leagues. Think of it as the equivalent of the Sod Poodles. Players who are young and trying to work their way up to the PGA Tour, while some of them have been on the tour before, but lost their card and are trying to play their way back on.

Some of golf's biggest names have come through the Korn Ferry Tour. Justin Thomas graduated from the tour in 2014 and is one of the most successful players in the PGA. Scottie Scheffler, the current number one ranked player in the world, graduated from it in 2019.

When Will The OccuNet Classic Be Held

The inaugural event will be held in Amarillo, June 11-14, 2026. The tournament will begin with 156 players on Thursday and Friday before the cut, and will feature 72 holes of golf played in the tournament.

It is a five-year partnership, so if you don't catch it next year, you'll have four more chances to enjoy it in the years after.
