Amarillo has been around since 1887, and in that time, the Yellow City has collected more than just history books. From rumored underground tunnels to family stories passed down for generations, these fun and lesser-known Amarillo facts come straight from locals who know the city best. Some are rooted in history, others in legend, but all reveal a side of Amarillo many people have never seen.

The Amarillo unknown facts are the best, because they may or may not be true. Our museums and history books tell the tales, but it is the family lore and the "I heard this from my grandma" that make the stories more juicy.
